Fundraise

Our next fundraising project will be to ‘Transform our Gardens’. Sadly we have lost several key plants in the walled and knot gardens as a result of a very dry summer followed by hard winter frosts in 2022/23 followed by incessant rain this year. We need to raise money to transform our garden with new wall climbers in the walled garden and specimen plants for the knot. We have also recently had to reduce or remove some trees in the driveway to give space to other trees in the carpark and improve the lighting here and on the Grange footpaths. We would like to replace them with flowering shrubs to enhance the biodiversity whilst making the area more easily managed.

The knot garden which is such a beautiful setting for the building is in need of some refurbishment too. We are watching the box hedges closely as there is some evidence of box blight so we might have to think the unthinkable and replace it all! In the meantime we need to regravel some of the paths and would like to put stepping stones in the south border to enable access by the gardening team.

We are very fortunate to have our gardens maintained by a team of volunteers who keep our grounds beautiful with their expertise and enthusiasm. We have recently been very grateful to Leominster B&Q for a donation of secateurs and to Carpenter Goodwin with their help towards a new lawn mower and we very much hope local businesses will continue to support us.

We will be holding some fundraising events throughout the next few months to raise money for this cause. If you can help with any donations for raffle prizes, bottle stalls and quiz and Bingo prizes that would be much appreciated.

Are you able to help? If so, please get in contact, it would mean so much.
