Hereford Ergonomics Experts Launch Free Webinar to Help Businesses Meet Workplace Legal Obligations

Hereford-based Wyvern Business Systems (WBS) is inviting businesses to attend a free webinar on workplace ergonomics and reasonable adjustments, taking place on Thursday 29th October at 2pm.

With musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) accounting for 6.6 million working days lost across Great Britain in 2022/23, the webinar will explore how employers can protect their staff, reduce workplace injuries and meet their legal responsibilities.

Entitled Compliant by Design: Ergonomics and Reasonable Adjustments in the Modern Workplace, the online session will be presented by Romy Williams and will explain two important legal responsibilities that many employers may not fully understand.

The first concerns workplace health and safety legislation, including the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Regulations 1992, which require employers to assess workstation risks and take appropriate action. The second involves the Equality Act 2010, under which employers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees where required.

The webinar will explain how these responsibilities differ, what businesses need to do to remain compliant and how appropriate ergonomic equipment can help employees work safely and comfortably.

Attendees will also learn how to identify the early warning signs of musculoskeletal problems, conduct effective workstation assessments and understand their responsibilities towards home and hybrid workers.

Romy Williams, Director at Wyvern Business Systems, said:

“Many employers understand the importance of providing a safe working environment, but there is often confusion about what the law actually requires when it comes to workplace ergonomics.

“Providing an adjustable chair or a suitable desk is only part of the solution. Employers also need to assess individual workstations, respond to potential risks and understand when specialist adjustments may be necessary.

“Our webinar will help businesses understand these responsibilities and provide practical advice on how to protect their employees while meeting their legal obligations.”

As part of the webinar, attendees will receive a free 15-page eBook, The UK Employer’s Guide to Workplace Ergonomics & Reasonable Adjustments.

The guide provides practical information on UK legislation, DSE assessments, reasonable adjustments, workstation setup and the potential financial implications of poor ergonomics. It also includes a workplace ergonomics checklist that employers can use to review their existing arrangements.

Included on the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) supplier list, Wyvern Business Systems provides specialist ergonomic assessments, office furniture and assistive technology to organisations across the UK.

The webinar will conclude with an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about their own workplace arrangements and responsibilities.

The free webinar takes place on Thursday 29th October 2026 at 2pm UK time.
