Sickness absence is more than a number on a spreadsheet. It can reveal important trends in workforce health, highlight where employees may need additional support and show where action could make the greatest difference. By understanding and using absence data effectively, businesses can reduce disruption and costs, improve employee wellbeing and retention and build a healthier, more productive workforce.
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, through its work with Worcestershire County Council is working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Keep Britain Working policy team to better understand the impact of sickness absence on local employers. As one of the country’s vanguard areas helping to inform national thinking on workplace health and economic inactivity, Herefordshire and Worcestershire have a unique opportunity to ensure the experiences of local businesses are heard.
We are inviting employers to take part in a short survey exploring sickness absence, its causes and the challenges organisations face in supporting employees to remain in work. The findings will help build a stronger evidence base, inform future support for businesses and contribute to wider discussions on how employers can play a role in improving workforce health and reducing economic inactivity.
The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and your insight will make a valuable contribution to both local and national policy development.
