A new hi-tech dance studio facility with some of the best facilities in the Midlands has opened in Bromsgrove.
Commercial property agents John Truslove have helped founders Mike Fellows and Yvonne Rowley to find premises on Saxon Business Park near Bromsgrove that were ideal for conversion into three bespoke dance studios.
They have agreed a new lease on the 2,680 sq ft at 14B Saxon Business Park, Cartwright Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove.
Yvonne Rowley has been teaching dance in the Bromsgrove area for 30 years, and trained students who competed for England in the Dance World Cup, taking first place.
Mike Fellows, as a professional dancer, has worked with stars including the Spice Girls, Will.I.Am and Ed Sheeran.
They decided to team up and turned to Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, to find the right premises for their new joint venture.
They launched their weekly timetable at the beginning of September and now offer everything from recreational classes for beginners through to competition training for those who want to compete on the national and international stage.
Classes range from contemporary and jazz dance to ballet and “acro” – acrobatic dancing which is becoming increasingly popular, according to the dance teachers, who have been joined by Ediz Ibrahim and Sophie Speed to provide the widest variety of styles and training.
Both Yvonne Rowley and Mike Fellows Mike and Yvonne will be training and taking the MFC competition teams to dance contests.
This summer, Mike Fellows escorted a UK team to Orlando where they performed at Disneyworld and he and Yvonne will also be working with teams in two national competitions in October.
Ian Parker said: “Saxon Business Park might not be the first location you might consider for a new hi-tech dance studio, but Mike and Yvonne could see the potential in the building we showed them and have done a remarkable job reimaging the available space into three dance studios.
“Bromsgrove now has a creative arts facility that can cater for everyone from the absolute beginner to the competition professional and at John Truslove we are delighted to have been able to help them take their first steps.”
