KEMP Hospice is inviting the local community to come together this summer for an evening of remembrance, reflection and celebration at its first-ever Moonlight Walk.
Taking place on Friday 31st July at the beautiful Bodenham Arboretum, the event offers people the chance to remember loved ones while raising vital funds for local hospice care.
Open to everyone, whether or not they have a connection to KEMP Hospice, the Moonlight Walk is designed to be an uplifting evening where family, friends, neighbours and colleagues can walk side by side in memory of those they love and miss, while celebrating the care KEMP provides across the community.
Participants will enjoy a scenic 3K walk through the arboretum, accompanied by live entertainment, music, food and refreshments, before taking time to pause at a dedicated memory space, where they can leave a personal message in honour of someone special. Walkers are also invited to wear a personalised dedication on their commemorative event t-shirt, sharing who or what they’re walking for.
Ian Carr, Head of Fundraising and Communications, said “The Moonlight Walk is about so much more than putting one foot in front of the other. It’s an opportunity for people to come together, remember loved ones, celebrate their lives and support the local hospice that’s here for our community when it’s needed most.
“Whether you’re walking in memory of a family member or friend, to say thank you to KEMP, or simply because you want to support your local hospice, everyone is welcome. We hope this becomes a special annual tradition for our community.”
The evening will also feature a high-energy warm-up led by Hannah Yardley, entertainment from Someone at the Door Samba, and hosting from popular compère Dicky Dodd, who many will remember from KEMP’s much-loved Midnight Walk.
As an independent charity, KEMP Hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising to continue providing specialist palliative care, bereavement support and wellbeing services free of charge to local families.
Tickets are available now, with children under eight able to take part free of charge.
