Hillscourt Hotel and Conference Centre is proud to announce a range of sustainability initiatives that reinforce its commitment to responsible hospitality and environmental best practice.
As part of its ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact, Hillscourt has been awarded a Sustainable Laundry Partnership Certificate by Nuwash Laundry. The certification recognises the hotel’s use of low-temperature, water-efficient laundry processes that reduce water, energy and chemical consumption while maintaining high standards of hygiene and textile care.
The award forms part of a wider sustainability programme across the hotel and conference centre. Recent initiatives include replacing plastic room key cards with sustainable walnut alternatives, introducing refillable bathroom toiletries, using pens made from recycled materials, and replacing bottled water for conference delegates with filtered water served in reusable jugs. In addition, used cooking oil is collected and recycled by Olleco into biodiesel, providing an environmentally responsible alternative to disposal.
Conference Centre Manager Tammy Clinton said: “Sustainability is a key part of our business strategy. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain committed to implementing practical initiatives that reduce our environmental impact while maintaining the high standards our guests expect. We know many of our clients are actively seeking venues that share their environmental values, and we are delighted to be playing our part.”
Hillscourt remains committed to continually reviewing its operations and identifying new opportunities to reduce its carbon footprint. These improvements help minimise environmental impact while supporting guests and conference delegates in making more sustainable choices throughout their stay.
