New College Worcester

New College Worcester (NCW), the UK’s only residential secondary school for young people who are blind or vision impaired, is seeking support from the local business community to help transform an unused outdoor area into a peaceful sensory wellbeing and remembrance garden.

The garden will become a safe and accessible space where students and staff can relax, regulate, reflect and connect with nature. The garden will also provide a gentle space to honour the memory of former students and celebrate legacies left in support of the college.

We are looking to connect with local businesses, organisations and volunteers who may be able to support the project through:

• Volunteer days
• Landscaping or gardening expertise
• Donations of plants, materials or outdoor furniture
• Sponsorship or funding support
• Practical skills, ideas or advice

The garden will support the wellbeing of young people with visual impairment and additional needs by providing a calming sensory environment with accessible pathways, seating, sensory planting and reflective spaces.

This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to become involved in a meaningful local project with a lasting impact on young people’s wellbeing, independence and school experience.

If you or your organisation may be interested in supporting this project, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Emma on 01905 763933 or e-mail: [email protected]
