Rotherwood Healthcare Celebrates Cadbury’s 200th Anniversary

Rotherwood Healthcare Homes and Home Support Centre proudly joined the nation in celebrating a remarkable milestone – Cadbury’s 200th Anniversary. Recognised as one of the UK’s most beloved confectionery companies, Cadbury has been creating shared memories and delighting taste buds for two centuries.

To commemorate this significant occasion, Cadbury launched a series of themed chocolate bars featuring classic packaging designs from different eras of its storied history. As a tribute to its enduring legacy, Cadbury made a generous donation of £200,000 to Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity that holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Rotherwood Healthcare.

In a wonderful gesture of community spirit, Cadbury reached out to Rotherwood care homes, inviting them to join in their bicentennial celebrations. With locations across the Midlands, each received a delightful goodie bag brimming with treats, including decorations such as balloons and bunting, classic chocolate bars and biscuits, quizzes, and recipe cards that encouraged residents and staff to get creative in the kitchen with delicious chocolatey cakes and bakes.

Residents had a brilliant time, revelling in the festivities and savouring the delicious treats provided by Cadbury. The classic chocolates brought back fond memories, and the atmosphere was filled with joy as everyone participated in the various activities. For those at Dorset House in Droitwich Spa, it especially resonated with residents as many of them know someone who worked at the nearby factory, whilst residents at Lynhales Hall in Lyonshall had their Chef create a delectable chocolate drip cake adorned with Cadbury treats. Not to forget Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford in Hereford and St George’s Park in Telford who enjoyed an afternoon of tasting different chocolatey treats. Kington Court in Kington and Roden Hall in Telford combined the celebration with World Chocolate Day, learning the history of Cadbury and of course sampling plenty of confectionary. It has been truly a sweet time for all!

“We are immensely grateful to Cadbury for including us in their 200th-anniversary celebrations and for their substantial donation to Alzheimer’s Research UK,” said Cheryl Walne, Regional Manager at Rotherwood Healthcare. “This gesture not only provided a wonderful day of fun and nostalgia for our residents and staff but also supported a very dear cause.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Cadbury for their generosity and for including us in their celebrations. Their donation to Alzheimer’s Research UK is a commendable contribution to an essential cause, and we are proud to support it. Here’s to Cadbury’s continued success and to many more years of sweet memories.
