Leading accountancy firm, Hayward Wright, held its latest Annual Charity Golf Day last week in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust – a national charity that supports those affected by cystic fibrosis to create a world where being born with the condition no longer carries a death sentence.
The event, held at Olton Golf Club in Solihull for the second year running, brought together more than 120 individuals from businesses across the Midlands, raising more than £8,000 for the charity.
Guests enjoyed a day of networking and golf which was kicked off by Hayward Wright’s Managing Director, Alistair Hayward-Wright and Neil Bettridge from AMROS Golf and a presentation from Rachel Taylor, Community Fundraiser from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, on the great work they do as well as some insight into the condition.
The team at Hayward Wright ran several initiatives on the day to raise money, including auctioning off a range of tees in the morning and with Hannah Bowen, Advanced PGA Professional Golfer, offering players a chance to beat the pro. The round of golf was followed by a three-course dinner and charity raffle which helped raise further funds.
The event was again supported by a wide range of sponsors, including Stephen Alexander, Blackstar Mortgages, F8, and KLO Financial Services.
Alistair Hayward-Wright commented: “This is the second consecutive year we have run the charity golf day, and it has once again received incredible support. Our focus is always on raising as much money as possible for our chosen charity and our guests did not disappoint. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is an incredible organisation that does amazing work with those affected by the condition and helps increase awareness and we are delighted to have played our part in supporting the charity this year. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the day and supported us, and we are already looking forward to our 2025 event.”
Rachel Taylor, Community Fundraiser at Cystic Fibrosis Trust commented: “We are thrilled with the support of Hayward Wright, especially through their Golf Day on 6th June 2024. The funds raised at this event could run our helpline for a whole month, offering invaluable support to the hundreds of people who get in touch with their questions, concerns and worries or pay for 20 days’ worth of essential laboratory materials at our Strategic Research Centres, helping scientists to develop groundbreaking new treatments for everyone with cystic fibrosis. To all those who joined in with the day and donated, we are incredibly grateful for your support.”
