Rotherwood Healthcare holds groundbreaking ceremony as it begins construction on its 60-bed care home development in the village of Colwall, on the border of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Officially named ‘Colwall Care Home’, the home has been designed by Lawrence and Finlay Architects and will have sweeping views of the Malvern Hills while housing state-of-the-art amenities including an at-home bar and cinema room.
The first sod was turned on the site by Rotherwood Chairman, Richard Claridge, and the CEO, John Fennell, joined by the architect, Kristian Lawrence, Director of LNC Property Developments, Lee Collingham, and Billy Rew from Target Fund Managers. The building contractors will now begin excavating the foundations.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on 9th February, John Fennell, the Chief Executive Officer of Rotherwood, said:
“We’re thrilled to get the project underway on what will be a first-class care home enriching the lives of older people while supporting the demand for care in the region. We look forward to watching the build progress over the next year and opening in 2024!”
