West Mercia Search & Rescue is an entirely volunteer, registered charity, supporting police and emergency services across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire in the search for vulnerable, high risk missing people. We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
To help raise vital funds to help us remain operational we undertook an endurance challenge like no other. On Saturday 3rd October, we climbed the 3 highest peaks in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire and cycled the distance in between. In total more than 100 miles of travelling with over 10,000 feet of elevation.
Starting in Herefordshire at 05:00 and ending in Shropshire at 21:00, challengers:
• Climbed Black Mountain in Herefordshire
• Cycled to the Malvern Hills
• Climbed Worcester Beacon
• Rode on towards Shropshire
• Climbed Brown Clee Hill
We are aiming to raise £5,157 which represents the incredible volunteer deployment hours we achieved last year.
