OWB Creative donates craft boxes to charity to support childhood cancer families

Generous marketing specialists OWB Creative have donated colourful craft boxes to a charity supporting families impacted by childhood cancer.

The team at OWB Creative, part of Chamber Member DRPG Group, decorated and filled four large boxes with crafting gifts and encouraging messages to deliver to the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, a charity dedicated to driving improvements in early detection and treatment.

Teams from across the agency, including account management, creative, strategy and digital marketing joined forces to prepare the donations, which were organised during a team day and as part of OWB Creative’s corporate social responsibility drive.

OWB Creative colleagues delivered the craft boxes to the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust offices in Cowsden, near Worcester, on Wednesday (July 22).

Based in St Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, OWB Creative has a long-standing relationship with the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, having created marketing campaigns to raise awareness for their great work.

In December OWB Creative delivered You Know Them Best, a campaign to encourage families to trust their instincts recognising the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer.

To ensure authenticity, 32 children who had received treatment along with those from families impacted by childhood cancer took part in a “Doodle Day” to share their feelings and thoughts through a series of art workshops.

A fully integrated campaign across cinema, radio, tv, media relations, social media and out of home advertising utilising their drawings raised awareness among families across the West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Tommy Moore, Senior Creative Director at OWB Creative, said: “Everyone at OWB Creative has a strong emotional connection with Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust and their work so it was great to see them utilise their creativity to produce these unique craft boxes.”

Managing Director Sara Lyddy said: “All the OWB Creative team knows someone affected by cancer so they felt really passionate about wanting to do something to show their support.”

Chief Executive Officer Dr Jen Kelly said “We are grateful to OWB Creative for their kindness and creativity in gifting these craft boxes to our families. In this our tenth anniversary year, the impact of partnerships such as this have been invaluable in the charity’s growth, enabling us to support more families in challenging times.”

Sarah Tarry, Family Support Manager, added: “We are incredibly thankful to OWB Creative for this thoughtful donation. The craft boxes will be warmly welcomed by children and families accessing our support, providing opportunities for creativity, play and quality time together. It’s wonderful to have the backing of organisations that care so deeply about making a positive difference.”
