MEGAFEST RETURNS TO CELEBRATE WOMEN’S CRICKET AHEAD OF T20 WORLD CUP FINAL

Worcestershire Cricket Foundation is preparing to welcome players from across the county as MEGAFEST 2026 returns on Sunday 5 July, bringing together women and girls for a day of cricket, community and celebration.

Taking place from 10:00am to 2:00pm, MEGAFEST has become one of the highlights of Worcestershire’s cricket calendar, providing an opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to come together and enjoy the game in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.

This year’s festival will feature both competitive and participation games, ensuring there is something for everyone, whether participants are playing to win or simply looking to enjoy the experience of being part of the day. Teams will once again be encouraged to embrace the spirit of the event by wearing themed fancy dress or representing their club colours.

The action-packed day will conclude with the MEGAFEST Final and Awards Ceremony, before players and supporters head to Visit Worcestershire New Road to watch the Women’s T20 World Cup Final together on the big screen.

The event forms part of Worcestershire Cricket Foundation’s commitment to growing the women’s game and creating opportunities for more people to get involved in cricket across the county.

Elsa-Marie Evans, Event Coordinator, said: “MEGAFEST is one of our favourite events of the year because it celebrates everything that’s great about women’s cricket. The atmosphere is always fantastic, with players coming together to enjoy the game, meet new people and be part of a vibrant cricket community. We’re looking forward to welcoming teams from across the county and rounding off the day by watching the Women’s T20 World Cup Final together.”

Harry Kitchen, Executive Director of Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, added: “Worcestershire Cricket Foundation exists to make cricket accessible to everyone, and events like MEGAFEST are a wonderful example of that in action. The growth of women’s and girls’ cricket across Worcestershire has been incredible to see, and this event provides an opportunity to celebrate that progress while welcoming new players into the game. It showcases the positive impact sport can have both on and off the field.”

As well as celebrating women’s cricket, the event helps raise awareness of the Foundation’s wider work across Worcestershire, supporting participation, inclusion, wellbeing and youth development through cricket.
