Launch of 2023 awards celebrates Worcestershire’s apprenticeship success

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Worcestershire County Council have announced that the popular apprenticeship celebration event, the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards are returning in 2023.

The announcement was made at the end of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, where during the week a plethora of activity was shared via the Worcestershire Apprenticeships website and social media channels. A variety of case studies were shared alongside a selfie campaign with apprentices and the announcement of new support schemes, WA Account and WA Bursary coming soon.

2023 will mark the ninth year of the annual awards with the awards evening returning to the West Midland Safari Park in November.

Entries to the awards have now opened with apprentices, employers, schools and training providers in Worcestershire being encouraged to submit their entries or nominations via the online nomination process, before the 14 July deadline.

The 2023 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards will celebrate the most successful apprentices, employers, schools, and training providers across 11 categories over the last year.

The 2023 award categories are:

The popular celebration event will culminate in the two illustrious overall awards of ‘Worcestershire Apprenticeship Employer of the Year’, and ‘Worcestershire Apprentice of the Year’.

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Off the back of a very successful and engaging week of activity for National Apprenticeship Week I am delighted to see the return of the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards for 2023.

“With the awards open for entries, this is the perfect chance to celebrate all those involved with apprenticeships as we have categories for both small and large apprenticeship employers, apprentices of all levels and recognition for our schools and training providers who promote apprenticeships.

“I’d like to encourage any Worcestershire apprentices, employers of all sizes, training providers, schools and apprenticeship ambassadors to get their entries in.”

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, added: “National Apprenticeship Week was a great celebration of everyone involved in making apprenticeships a success and I was pleased to see so much support locally. It was the perfect end to the week to launch the 2023 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards so that we can continue to recognise the fantastic individuals and organisations involved with delivering apprenticeships in Worcestershire.”
