Pick up your phone and look at your own website. Not the desktop version you checked when it launched, the version most of your customers actually see.
More than half of all web traffic in the UK now happens on mobile. If your site was built for a desktop screen and just shrinks to fit, you’re probably losing enquiries without ever knowing it.
The usual culprits are easy to miss because they don’t look broken, they just don’t work well. A phone number that isn’t tappable. A contact form that’s awkward to fill in with a thumb. Text that needs zooming in to read. A menu that takes three taps to find the page someone actually wants.
None of these stop your site from loading. They just make it slightly harder to get in touch, and on mobile, slightly harder is often enough. People don’t complain, they just leave and try the next search result instead.
The fix isn’t usually a full rebuild, it’s checking the basics properly: can someone call you in one tap, fill in a form without fighting the keyboard, and find what they need without hunting for it?
Worth five minutes on your own phone to find out.
