In July 2026, the Ely Memorial Fund is once again hosting its impactful Young Driver Experience at Hereford & Ludlow College – an initiative designed to equip local young people aged 14–17 with the essential skills and awareness they need to stay safe on the roads.
Road safety remains a critical issue for young people, and this hands-on programme goes far beyond basic driving. Participants benefit from up to two hours of supervised driving experience, alongside interactive workshops covering vital topics such as drink and drug awareness, roadside emergency first aid, safe passenger behaviour, and basic car maintenance.
This life‑enhancing experience is made possible through community and business support – and for just £35, you can sponsor a young person to take part. Businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor multiple places, directly contributing to a safer future for local communities while demonstrating meaningful social impact.
The goal for 2026 is to sponsor 180 young people, ensuring as many individuals as possible benefit from this powerful programme. By supporting this initiative, you’re not just funding an event, you’re helping to build confidence, awareness, and potentially life-saving knowledge in the next generation.
Join us in making a difference. Together, we can help keep young people safe on Herefordshire’s roads.
