The High Sheriff of Worcestershire is set to host his annual golf day, which is expected to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
The county’s High Sheriff, Maynard Burton, is hosting a golf event on Thursday 8th October at The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern, with funds going to the Worcestershire Community Foundation. The money will then be distributed among a number of charities and community organisations chosen by Mr Burton.
The day starts at 13:30 and concludes with a two-course evening presentation dinner. The cost to enter a team of four is £480.00, with golfers able to win a variety of prizes including for the longest drive and nearest to the pin. A special £10,000 prize is also available for a hole-in-one.
The event is being sponsored by law firm mfg Solicitors, with local firm Sutfcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers as the hole-in-one backer. A range of other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Maynard Burton, the High Sheriff of Worcestershire said: “The High Sheriff’s annual golf day is always a popular event, which brings people and businesses together from across the county in support of local charities.
“This year I hope to raise as much money as possible and we have already received a tremendous response from those keen to get involved.
“There are a limited number of team and sponsorship places available, so I would urge anyone interested to contact us if they would like to be part in what promises to be a fantastic day of golf and fundraising. There are also opportunities to become sponsors if you do not wish to play golf but would still like to support great local causes.”
