Brave passengers are being invited to climb aboard the Severn Valley Railway’s Ghost Train this Halloween, for a spine-tingling journey from Kidderminster to Arley and back.
Running from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 October, the 75-minute experience will feature eerie encounters and ghostly surprises along the route, with Arley station providing a suitably haunting destination.
Departures from Kidderminster are at 5pm, 5.55pm and 6.50pm on Thursday 29 October, with an additional 7.45pm service on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October. Tickets include reserved seating and a goodie bag for every child.
There will be activities at Kidderminster station before departure, including spooky photo opportunities and music from Disco Daddy, who will be playing Halloween favourites from 4pm to 9pm. The King & Castle pub, Coffee Express kiosk and gift shop will also be open.
New for 2026, the event will feature street food from Roly Poly Eats and Smoke and Ash pizzas. Sweet treats will be available from Dutch Mini Pancakes on Thursday, Golden Glaze Donuts on Friday and Becca Cake House on Saturday.
Victoria Evans, the SVR’s head of commercial and customer experience, said:
“Halloween is a great opportunity to offer visitors something a little different, and the Ghost Train combines the experience of travelling on a heritage railway with some spooky surprises along the way. With entertainment and a wide choice of food at Kidderminster, there will be plenty to enjoy before the journey begins.”
The SVR will also run its Scream Train for passengers aged 18 and over, offering a separate experience for those seeking an even more frightening Halloween outing.
