Steve Perera welcomes Darren lley
The managing director of procurement and nutrition consultancy AVE is set to act as an official ambassador for Worcestershire.
Darren Iley has been elected as a member of the Worcestershire Ambassadors, an independent group which brings together business leaders passionate about promoting the county, and supporting the local community and charitable causes.
Darren – who joined Worcester-based AVE a year ago and also lives within the county – has overseen several initiatives within the company, including regular donations to local foodbanks. He took part in a Three Peaks Challenge in Yorkshire earlier this summer alongside colleagues, and also ran the Worcester Half Marathon this year to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice and the British Heart Foundation, in memory of his uncle.
Reflecting on his election as an Ambassador, Darren said: “Worcestershire is an incredible county full of individuals, charities and businesses who may not always get the recognition they deserve. In my role with the Worcestershire Ambassadors, I will be working hard to highlight these fantastic people and organisations in our communities, ensuring they get the awareness and support they deserve.
“Worcestershire has so much to offer, and it’s up to us to ensure everyone knows that. I’ll be continuing to support a range of charities, both as an Ambassador and as part of AVE’s community projects, as well as working closely with the group’s partners including the county council and Chamber of Commerce.”
