Supporting People Through Life, Loss and Learning

After more than 25 years working in the global corporate world across HR, leadership, learning and development, Deborah Meddins has built a career centred around people, communication and meaningful connection.

Today, Deborah combines two very different but deeply connected roles. As a Family Celebrant and Grief Coach, she supports local families through some of life’s most important moments, from weddings, vow renewals and baby naming ceremonies to funerals and memorial services. Her approach focuses on creating personal, heartfelt ceremonies that truly reflect the people at the centre of them.

Alongside her celebrant work, Deborah also works as a Learning Coach with Total People, delivering CIPD Level 3 and Level 5 HR apprenticeships. Supporting learners at different stages of their careers, she brings real-world HR and leadership experience into coaching and development.

In 2022, Deborah faced her own cancer journey with positivity, resilience and laughter, an experience that further strengthened her belief in the importance of human connection, compassion and making the most of every moment.

Deborah is passionate about creating supportive environments where people feel heard and valued, whether guiding a family through loss, helping a couple celebrate their story, or supporting apprentices as they grow in confidence and capability.

Working largely in the virtual and remote world, Deborah continues to support both local communities and learners across the UK with warmth, empathy and authenticity.
