After 15 years, Internet company PoundHost Internet Ltd, severs ties with the British pound.

UK-based Internet Services Provider, PoundHost Internet Ltd, today unveiled the brand’s transformation to Simply Hosting & Servers.

Over a 15-year period, the company has experienced significant International expansion and developed a broader European client base. This triggered the decision to retire the ‘PoundHost’ brand name, as the British ‘pound’ is no longer central to its core identity.

Abhinav Mathur, Commercial Manager at Simply said, “We acquired PoundHost many years ago and since then our suite of services has developed rapidly, we’ve invested heavily in our own network and infrastructure, but the most significant growth we’ve seen is our market reach.”

He explained, “We are proudly British and our top-class datacentres are here in the UK but our future aspirations go much further afield. It’s quite ironic that the nation’s current focus is on Brexit and the British pound, whilst we focus on moving away from it and the restrictions it has had on our brand. We chose the name ‘Simply’ because its flexible, has International appeal and does exactly what it says - keeps things simple.”

Simply Hosting & Servers specialises in Dedicated Servers, Cloud Servers, SSD-VPS, big data applications and services such as colocation and custom solutions. The largest of their UK datacentres is located in the heart of the Thames Valley, a 50,000 square foot facility spread over four data halls.

It contains 450 racks at 4kW to 35kW per rack with 2N configuration, a dedicated HV network and 2N transformers plus a range of cooling, fire and power features. The high bandwidth MPLS core network infrastructure connects it to POP sites such as Telehouse East, London so there is no single point of failure.
