On rare occasions, Worcestershire Ambassadors choose to use their Annual Ball to award a prestigious ‘Pride of Worcestershire’ award to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the organisation and the county over many years.
This years Ball – held at West Midlands Safari Park – saw over 300 guests enjoy a fabulous evening that raised £45,000 for charities and good causes across Worcestershire.
At the very start of the evening, Ambassadors Chairman Vince Hopkins announced that this year the Board of Worcestershire Ambassadors had decided that well-known local photographer Mike Henley would be the recipient of the award.
Vince Hopkins said, “Over many years, Mike has attended countless charity events to take photographs without charging for his valuable time, services, and professionalism.
His skilled work captures for posterity the essence of each event we hold and the number of photographs he has provided us with over the years must run runs into the tens of thousands.
This award is not just for his great work with Worcestershire Ambassadors but also on behalf of all the other charities and great causes Mike has freely helped to promote and support. He is a thoroughly deserved winner of our ‘Pride of Worcestershire’ award”
