Senior figures in government are urging all organisations to improve their cyber resilience in the face of increased threats, which were highlighted by the recent high-profile security breach at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
However, it can be difficult to know where to start. Thankfully, there are a range of resources available to help organisations of all sizes; Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers, who are a newly appointed BIBA Accredited Cyber Insurance Broker, recommend using the National Cyber Security Centre and the regional Cyber Resilience Centres as a starting point. These organisations provide a range of advice, services and tools, often free of charge, to help become more resilient. Take steps to build a cyber security strategy by visiting:
- Cyber Advisor Scheme – accredited individuals who can provide advice and support to your business> Cyber Advisor | National Cyber Security Centre – NCSC.GOV.UK
- Cyber Action Toolkit – a free step by step tool to improve cyber security > Cyber Action Toolkit

The government also recommends organisations consider Cyber Insurance as part of their overall cyber risk programme, which can provide incident recovery services as well as legal and financial support.
By having a cyber security strategy in place encompassing training, certification and insurance, businesses are better placed to safeguard their future from a cyber attack and respond quickly to reduce the impact.
