Multi-award-winning vineyard which is part of Wyevale Nurseries offers ‘Taste of Herefordshire’ tours & tastings for English Wine Week

WINE LOVERS and those interested in viniculture are invited to an award-winning Herefordshire vineyard, which is part of Wyevale Nurseries, for a series of tours and tastings to raise awareness for English Wine Week (Saturday, June 20 to Sunday, June 28, 2026).

Foxbury Fields Vineyard is hosting events on May 21 and June 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24 and 26 to boost the county’s wine producers and wine tourism opportunities.

Heather Williamson, who co-founded the Bromsberrow vineyard with her partner Richard Baker, and is also Hereford-based Wyevale Nurseries’ Chairman, explains: “We’re delighted to be once again hosting these behind-the-scenes tours just before and during English Wine Week 2026, which is organised by our industry body WineGB.

“These events, which we’re calling ‘A Taste of Herefordshire’ are designed to give visitors the opportunity to find out how learn how English vines are managed and to try some of the wonderful, award-winning wines we make at the foot of the Malvern Hills.”

WineGB is the national association for the English and Welsh wine industry. It represents, leads and supports the sustainable growth of the Great British wine sector.

According to the body, UK production surged by 39% in 2025, when compared to 2024, driven by a rare combination of early warm weather, a dry spring and heatwaves in June and July. These conditions created the earliest and ripest harvest ever recorded in the British Isles.
Heather says: “English wine is going from strength-to-strength. Vineyards like us, across the UK, are currently reflecting on an extraordinary 2025 grape harvest, which was confirmed as one of the most impressive in recent British viticultural history. These national results set a powerful tone for this year, highlighting both the potential and the resilience of UK winegrowing, so it’s never been a better or more interesting time to visit us.

“We’re all wondering now what 2026 will bring! Last year was also a wonderful year for us as we won another prestigious WineGB Award – a medal for our 2023 still, white, Ortega wine. In fact, we’ve been winning regional and national awards for our wines for many years and have a range of accolades from silver and bronze to highly commended going back to 2017.”

Last year, Foxbury Fields Vineyard also joined five other independent vineyards in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire to pool their experience, expertise and reputation for growing great grapes and making excellent wines.

Collectively, they are known as The Malvern Hills Vineyards, www.malvernhillsvineyards.co.uk, and grow 14 grape varieties across more than 68 acres.

Heather adds: “We’re very proud of the cultivation, land management and environmental practices we’ve implemented at our vineyard, as well as the award-winning wines we make and are looking forward to showing anyone around who is interested in finding out more.”

To enhance the celebrations, English Wine Week includes Father’s Day and the Summer Solstice, which both fall on June 21.

Heather concludes: “Every event will be unique, as the vineyard, nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, is a magical place that’s busy with wildlife. After walking through the vines and touring our site, guests will have the opportunity to taste a selection of our signature wines including our classic vintage English Bacchus and our wonderfully perfumed Ortega.

“The vineyard is a 15-minute walk from Russell End Farm, so if anyone has any walking difficulties, but would like to come along, please get in touch with us direct before booking and we can discuss accommodating your needs.”

Foxbury Fields Vineyard’s ‘Taste of Herefordshire’ tours and tastings are on May 21 at 6pm, June 17 at 3pm and 6pm, June 19 at 3pm and again at 5pm, June 20 from 5pm, June 21 at 2pm and 5pm, June 22 at 7pm, June 24 at 6pm, and June 26 at 2pm and 6pm
