Managing Director Terry Hayward reflects on how much the sector has changed since the company was founded:
“When I started Solar Select, the solar industry was very different. Today, with the introduction of multiple manufacturing brands such as Sigenergy, Duracell Energy, Hanchu ESS and Haier has transformed the industry. Also with the introduction of AI and weather optimisation now built into many systems has simply more energy efficient.”
One of the biggest developments over the past decade has been the rapid growth of battery storage. Another way you can utilise a battery system is by charging batteries during cheaper off-peak hours and using that energy whenever you need it. This now means that both domestic and commercial customers can reduce their energy bills even further and become less reliant on the grid at peak times.
During its ten years in business, Solar Select has also worked closely with local organisations to support grant funding applications, including schemes delivered through Worcestershire City Council, Business Growth West Midlands and the BEAS (Business Energy Advice Service).
Looking to the future, Solar Select are excited to be working towards new decarbonisation projects for both domestic and commercial customers, Helping everyone move towards greater energy independence and, of course, continuing to save money.
