The Severn Valley Railway welcomed hundreds of passengers to Kidderminster last weekend [29 and 30 November] to board the brand-new Santa Steam Specials. After spending time in the winter wonderland of the station concourse, families were whisked away on board a heritage train to Arley station for the Great Christmas Train Rescue show.
“It’s been wonderful to see how well our new Christmas experiences are going down,” said Lewis Maddox, the SVR’s visitor engagement manager. “We’ve worked closely with our new partner Wise Owl Theatre to create something truly special for families, and it’s proving a huge success.
“We know how important it is for families to find those extra-special moments. They want something magical to share, something that becomes part of their Christmas traditions. Our Santa Steam Specials are exactly that, combining the thrill of a heritage train journey with an exciting Christmas show to get everyone in the festive mood.
“But, if you’re thinking about joining us, don’t delay. Some services are now completely sold out with only limited availability on others.”
The SVR’s Santa Steam Specials run on weekends and on Christmas Eve, and there’s more information and details on booking at svr.co.uk.
