Hospice Charity Installs a Garden of Remembrance for the Whole Community this July

Wyre Forest charity KEMP Hospice have launched a garden of celebration and remembrance at Brinton Park, Kidderminster. A collection of butterfly sculptures which supporters have donated and dedicated, has created a stunning art display. Located by the Richard Eve Monument at the Park from Monday 8th July to Sunday 21st July 2024, everyone is invited to be a part of the event, with just a short time remaining to secure a butterfly in the garden.

Jayne Sargeant, Head of Fundraising & Communications at KEMP Hospice said, “We are so pleased to have created the Butterfly Celebration Garden this Summer. It’s a place where we invite everyone to visit and take a moment to remember and celebrate those in our lives who may no longer be here with us. The garden is there for the whole community to visit, not just those with an existing connection to KEMP, and we invite anyone who may wish to secure their own butterfly to do so on our website before time runs out.”

The limited-edition butterflies have been kindly crafted and donated by Kidderminster based business Central Profiles. Mark Smith, Sales Manager at Central Profiles said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be supporting KEMP Hospice Celebration Garden this Summer. It means a lot to us to support our local hospice charity and we can’t wait to see the butterflies out on display. It is an honour to support such a worthy cause.”

The temporary display will remain in place until Sunday 21st July 2024 when everyone is invited to a special event in the park from 11.30am to 2.30pm to collect their butterfly. “For everyone who has donated for a butterfly, once the public display has come to an end, it will be yours to take home, a keepsake to treasure the memory of your loved one,” said Jayne.

The event, which is supported by Wyre Forest District Council, will feature a performance by West Midlands Concert Band on the newly renovated bandstand in Brinton Park. They will be performing from 12noon until 2pm. Karen Haynes, Community Project Officer at Wyre Forest District Council said, “We are proud to be supporting KEMP Hospice this July by welcoming their celebration garden to Brinton Park. The event on Sunday 21st July will bring the community together to remember and honour our loved ones. We hope everyone enjoys this meaningful addition to our park this Summer.”
