Midlands law firm Thursfields has been ranked 4th in Experian’s MarketIQ report for M&A activity in Q1 across the Midlands.
In the first quarter of 2024, Thursfields advised on 8 deals, including acquisitions for PE backed groups on buy and build strategies, MBOs and sales of owner managed and family businesses. Highlights include advising on the sale of Midlands based Microset Products to French group Socomore, advising Waterland Private Equity and MTM Engineering on the acquisition of TA Ronan and advising Simon Lancaster on his acquisition of a majority stake in Worcester City Football Club. More recently, the team advised the shareholders of Ortecha on their strategic alliance with Debretts.
Gareth Burge, Head of Corporate at Thursfields commented: “the first quarter has seen an increase in deal activity across the team with a higher number of deals being completed, and actively advised on, than in any previous year. With a strong pipeline of deals and a number of new acquisitive clients, we look forward with optimism, and are confident that this will be our busiest year yet.”
This recognition follows Thursfields achieving a top 10 position in Experian’s 2023 rankings of most active M&A Legal Advisors in the Midlands.
