Worcestershire Community Foundation Seeks New Board Members!

Worcestershire Community Foundation is a local charitable body and one of the leading grantmakers in Worcestershire; we act as a conduit to local philanthropy, linking private and public funders with community projects across the county. We are an accredited member of UKCF, a national association that promotes and supports 47 Community Foundations across the UK.

In 2023, they will be celebrating 20 years of encouraging philanthropy and channeling £millions of funding to support hundreds of projects across the county; this is a pivotal time for WCF to develop their work and profile, building new philanthropic partnerships and work to support a range of local needs into the future.

Their aims are simple; to work with more people and organisations who can give and deliver their support to an increasing number of projects, charities, and community groups. They aim to be a significant part of Worcestershire’s response to emerging challenges while also supporting programmes and sustainable, proactive initiatives with longer-term impacts.

Following their large-scale Covid response, they are currently working on a strategic plan for the next 2 years and as part of their succession planning activities, they are looking to recruit new Trustees.  They are particularly interested in people who have experience working with community groups and small charities, who understand the challenges they face and the importance of securing appropriate funding to ensure their work continues. They particularly welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life who can demonstrate at least one of the following skills: Strategy development; business development/ fundraising; marketing & communications.

The trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction and for developing the Foundation’s aims, objectives, and goals in accordance with the governing document, and legal and regulatory guidelines.

They are proud to have a group of dedicated and skilled local trustees who are passionate about the work in Worcestershire and always go the extra mile; if you are interested in having an initial chat with them about WCF and how you could become part of the team, please contact their Chair David Shaw at worcs.com.found@gmail.com

The deadline to apply is Thursday 6 April.
