What is this course about?

Changes to import and export procedures are so common these days that it almost seems like a daily task keeping up-to-date.  In a busy working environment changes to regulations can slip by unnoticed or without being fully understood – until it is too late.   Don’t get left behind performing tasks or paying charges that are no longer required; don’t run the risk of being caught under the civil penalty system that Customs now have the power to impose.

In a concise and clearly explained session you will be brought up-to-date on topics such as: import requirements, the GB Northern Ireland situations, GVMS, UK preferential trade agreement, the new regulations on hazardous goods movements, the new Harmonised System code starting January 2022 and the changing face of GB trade with the EU.  It will also review changes in other areas of international trade such as GB and EU safeguard, phytosanitary regulations, future developments such as the adoption of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to replace CHIEF for customs entries in the UK and the new set of information required.

If you want to benchmark your own awareness of these changes this one-day event is an invaluable way of doing that.  Delegates should have some knowledge of current export and import procedures to gain from this presentation.

Who should attend?

Everyone who has any connection with sales or purchases and the international supply chain. This seminar will remove misunderstanding and shine a light on which terms are better for your individual business needs.

The following are examples of the type of company personnel who need to keep up-to-date:

Newcomers to export/import or people only involved occasionally with exports/imports

Shipping department trainees

Export/import administrators and managers who have had no formal training

Buyers, purchasing and procurement staff who need to understand key issues to correctly obtain prices

Sales and Customer service administrators who need to understand what they are contracting

Freight forwarders and clearing agents who may be asked by their clients to make this important legal decision when entering goods to customs

Management trainees
