Legal Speaker: Sally Morris, Partner and Head of Employment at mfg Solicitors
Topic: Covid and vaccinations and what employers can insist on

HR Speaker: Judy Chadwick, Skills and Investment Group Manager at Worcestershire County Council
Topic: Mid-life MOT portal

Worcestershire has a significant demographic challenge ahead within its workforce, the proportion of over 50s employed is 1 in 3, reached in early 2019 ahead of the national prediction and there are less young people entering the workforce due to a decline in birth rates, meaning less potential employees over future years. This raises the challenge of succession planning and supporting our workforce to be healthier for longer.

To support this drive and help employers to understand their workforces, Worcestershire LEP is launching a localised mid-life MOT portal with the Department for Work and Pensions, aimed at supporting employers to succession planning their future workforce as well as supporting individuals with understanding their retirement planning. The portal will focus on three main areas; Work, Health and Money. This portal will include content such as toolkits, how to use guides, thought pieces on over 50s employment and succession plans, on-line questionnaires, links to other sources of information and support for Worcestershire’s employers. The project aims to enable employers to have a greater understanding of their workforce’s plans and support t
