Intermediate Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is a key competency that supports many day to day functions in an organisation.

A working knowledge of this application is important for most employees operating in a business Environment. Microsoft Word is one of the most used applications, across a wide variety of sectors. Having staff that are effective, proficient and efficient in their work will support the smooth running of your business and will support your staff to become more productive.

Course Overview

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to understand the benefits of the new ‘Insert Tab’ and will have knowledge of how to insert watermarks, pictures, charts and hyperlinks. The formatting of these features will be covered in depth.

They will also be able to create formulas in tables, perform multiple sorting of data in a table and simple macros to facilitate multiple steps.

The afternoon session will allow delegates to gain experience of the mail merge feature in Word, using information from an Excel data sheet to produce letters and mailing labels. They will also create a table of contents at the beginning of a multi-page document and learn how heading styles are important when using this feature. The course will also cover protecting documents through forms with various controls.

The course is stimulated by worked examples and individual exercises.

Prerequisites

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows processes and minimum knowledge of computer usage is essential. A good basic knowledge of paragraph layout, formatting of text and spelling and grammar techniques is required.

He has worked extensively for many blue chip companies, especially in the manufacturing arena. Within the last few years he has developed courses and run public and one to one IT training in Microsoft Products for a variety of companies, and especially for the H&W Chamber Of commerce.
