Salary: £24,000 + benefits, Location: Worcester, Full-time: 37 hours

The Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is a member-led, not for profit organisation which works to support the local business community and our network of members. Recently being a finalist in the World Chambers Competition, awarded one of the Sunday Times Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work for 2018 and being accredited at Investors in People Gold level, these are exciting times for the Chamber of Commerce.

As part of this role you will prepare all membership renewal invoices, new member invoices and credit notes from resignations, ensuring the membership debtors spreadsheet is updated and reconciled to our finance system, Exchequer on a monthly basis.

You will prepare (monthly) Direct Debit Collection Run via BACS and will manage the purchase ledger function, including supplier invoicing/payment runs, petty cash, company Barclaycard and foreign currency reconciliation.

You will also investigate and resolve anomalies between Realex, CRM and the website, reporting and liaising with support providers and relevant team members and will assist with escalated allocated sales ledger queries, following up information and resolving any customer issues.

The successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, in depth technical understanding with experience of financial control and information preparation, be methodical in their approach with excellent time management skills and have a proven ability to prioritise workloads and complete tasks independently.

You will be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service and take the lead in the absence of the Finance Manager, such as through providing assistance with the preparation of management accounts to trial balance.

You will have proven experience in double entry bookkeeping and controlling books of prime entry, be able to communicate confidently both verbally and in writing, have strong negotiation and influencing skills and will be educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in accounts/finance.
