WORCESTER NEWS USING THE POWER OF ITS AUDIENCE TO FOCUS ON CELEBRATING THE HARD WORK OF ITS COMMUNIT

Home / News & Opportunities / Member News

Date: 10/04/2018

WORCESTERSHIRE'S most inspirational teachers, leading schools and best brown owls will be among those celebrated at a black-tie dinner this summer.

Guests at the Worcester News Education Awards ceremony will hear about the brilliant education work happening in communities throughout the county.
We've teamed up with the University of Worcester to shine a spotlight on the people who work tirelessly to help inspire and educate our children.
Last year, we heard stories about how teachers, support workers and headteachers were making a difference for thousands of pupils in schools and colleges.
There were also heart-warming tales of caretakers prepared to go above and beyond, volunteers single-handedly running youth clubs that make a huge impact on youngsters and newcomers to the education world already admired and respected by children and parents alike.
The ceremony will be held at the University of Worcester arena and will be a chance for our community to say thank you to all those who inspire or encourage young people to widen their horizons, to aim high and to be the very best they can be.
This year, former Olympic medallist Duncan Goodhew will be guest speaker, telling his own inspirational story of how he overcome challenges to harness his talent for swimming.
Sue Griffiths, events director at Newsquest, said: "Inspirational was the word used repeatedly by guests at last year's ceremony.
"Listening to the many, many stories of how people in the educational world are helping others was truly humbling.
"Everyone left with a smile on their face and a renewed determination to go out and make a difference.
"This year we are hoping even more guests will join us for a night of positivity. Tickets will be on sale soon."

Part of our ever-evolving business is now to connect to our communities through awards and event management- should you wish to be involved as a guest, guest speaker, Sponsor or just an interested party please do not hesitate to contact me
