RURAL MEDIA CHARITY HOSTS VISIT FROM NATIONAL FILM INDUSTRY EXECUTIVE

At each day’s drop-in sessions Alex Jackson will inform and encourage new and emerging filmmakers from Herefordshire to access BFI funding, training and support.

“The BFI Network is a collaboration between the BFI, national film organisations, and leading venues and cultural organisations around the UK”, said Alex.

“The ambition is to ensure all aspiring talent across the UK can access support, as well as benefit from signposting to the scope of funding and training opportunities available. We are especially keen to talk to filmmakers who would not usually be on the BFI’s radar.”

Rural Media’s BFI Academy alumni have been invited along with other local filmmakers.  Young people aged 16-19yrs who are passionate about film and media are also encouraged to attend the drop-in sessions and find out more about applying to Rural Media’s BFI Film Academy which is due to start in October this year.

“Previous BFI Academy students have gone on to gain places at prestigious universities, secure jobs within the industry, and have success at independent festivals around the world including Cannes” said Rural Media’s Creative Director, Grant Black.

“We are delighted that the British Film Institute has selected Herefordshire in which to promote these investment opportunities, and for their continuing support of our annual Film Academy.”

If you are interested in either of these great opportunities please contact Julie Colman T. 01432 344 039, E. juliec@ruralmedia.co.uk or check out our BFI Film Academy webpage https://www.ruralmedia.co.uk/bfi
