Local business ‘Pays it Forward’

A local marketing agency based in Droitwich has launched a campaign within the local business community encouraging them to ‘Pay it Forward.’ This involves businesses supporting each other by carrying out good deeds which have a positive impact.

The concept, developed by Fresh Nous in Droitwich, evolved from the idea behind the book ‘Pay it forward’ where good deeds accomplish things that the recipient cannot achieve on their own. The campaign was recently launched at the Hereford and Worcester Business Expo on the 8th March where business owners were encouraged to pay it forward to fellow businesses by doing small things such as: writing a testimonial, submitting a google review or nominating someone for an award.

Celia Felgate, one of the Directors at Fresh Nous commented: “We have been thrilled with the reaction we received at the Expo and we’re hopeful that a chain reaction will ensue where numerous businesses will benefit from these small, yet positive actions. We have already seen a great response from the local business community who have been using the hashtag ‘#payitforward’ on social media.”

Since then, the team have taken it one step further by deciding to pay it forward to a local charity who will benefit from the team’s wealth of experience and skills. Footsteps, a bereavement charity, provides a free support service for bereaved children, young people and their families in Worcestershire to help manage their grief. The team at Fresh Nous approached this project because they wanted to make a real difference to a charity who carry out invaluable work in the community, but don’t always get the recognition they truly deserve.

Susan Smith, Service Manager from the charity said: “We all feel enormously privileged – and excited – that Fresh Nous has chosen to support Footsteps; we consider ourselves very lucky!”

The team are inviting as many businesses as possible to do a good deed for another business ahead of National Pay it Forward Day on 27th April 2018 using the #payitforward to talk about it on social media.
