Hereford Racecourse is delighted to announce they have been named as a Finalist for the prestigious Showcase & Awards, hosted by the Racecourse Association (RCA).

The Showcase & Awards is the marquee event of British racecourses that annually celebrates first class customer experience in partnership with Moët Hennessy and Racing Post.

Hereford Racecourse has been listed as a Finalist in the Operational Excellence category. From the five Finalists the winner will be revealed at the Showcase & Awards ceremony on 16 November at Newbury Racecourse.
The Operational Excellence Award recognises exceptional delivery and behind the scenes initiatives that improve the operational performance and customer service at racecourses.

The reopening of Hereford Racecourse in October 2016 was at the heart of the racecourse’s submission, and the Judges were particularly impressed by the fact that so many stakeholders were consulted and considered with the pre-opening works.

Rebecca Davies, Executive Director, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the RCA Showcase Operational Award, which is a real testament to the team here and the wider ARC family who all helped so much.  It was a little akin to Challenge Anneka however we were rewarded with a fantastic opening fixture on 6th October 2016, since when we have enjoyed some really competitive racing with great crowds.

Stephen Atkin, RCA Chief Executive, said, “I am delighted for Hereford Racecourse for their success in being named a Finalist at the 2017 Showcase & Awards.

“It is a highlight of our year to see all of the quality Showcase Awards submissions go before the judges to measure the impact and growth of the initiatives that our racecourses have delivered and clearly Hereford have enjoyed an excellent year with over 50,000 visitors since their historic reopening.

“I extend my congratulations to the team for their hard work in securing this achievement and wish them the best of luck for the ceremony at Newbury on Thursday 16th November where we’ll see if they can join our esteemed list of winners.”
