Midlands-based event management team EML were recently called in to launch a brand new technical centre in Kidderminster, following a £6m refurbishment.

Midlands-based event management team EML were recently called in to launch a brand new technical centre in Kidderminster, following a £6m refurbishment.
 
The client was Amada Group which makes High Tech production machinery to support the sheet metal industry.
 
Their new, state of the art, Worcestershire technical centre and training facility enables Amada engineers to showcase superior manufacturing technologies and fully support their customers.
 
To officially launch the new centre, EML was called in to stage-manage a three day grand opening.

Day one - 25th April - Attended by Amada Group President and CEO Mitsuo Okamoto, The Mayor of Kidderminster Cllr John Campion and representatives from the Embassy of Japan, day one echoed the organisation’s Japanese origins with an official launch for the new showroom by an impressive display of traditional Taiko Drumming.
 
In addition, 120 high ranking delegates were treated to a Champagne reception with a live harpist, a ‘Kagami Biraki’ sake barrel opening ceremony, street artist and a sumptuous three course luncheon, along with presentations and building tours.
 
Day two - 29th April - Included a Champagne drinks reception, the unveiling of a number of new products, a presentation by author, explorer and keynote speaker, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, as well as a Japanese themed banquet.
 
Day three - 1st May - Incorporated a Champagne drinks reception, a live performance by Japanese Koto players, a high energy Kendo martial arts demonstration, a Japanese themed banquet and product presentations and guided tours.
 
Jon Huggett, event team co-ordinator with EML said,
 
“Here at EML we are very well positioned to programme and deliver these types of large corporate events.
 
With a three day launch like this, extensive planning is undertaken beforehand and, when each day is up and running, considered almost minute by minute event management keeps everything on track.
 
Also, it is important that these are not ‘one size fits all’ events and for Amada Group our content suggestions, which echoed and celebrated the organisation’s Japanese origins, were very well received.
 
The post-event feedback was extremely complementary and we also understand that the Kidderminster launch was also very well received by the distinguished senior management delegates visiting from Japan. “
