Hewett Recruitment is one step closer to raising £40,000 for local charities after announcing that over £10,000 has already been raised since kick-starting its charity challenge earlier this year.

Dubbed the 40@40 Challenge, Hewett Recruitment has committed to raising £40,000 by 2020 to mark its 40th year in business. Established in 1980 by recruitment specialist Louise Hewett, the Worcester and Kidderminster-based firm officially kick-started the challenge in April and is donating all funds to local charities across the region.
To date the team has braved the cold as part of the CEO Sleepout at Sixways Stadium and taken part in Kemp Hospice’s 5k Midnight Walk and its Enduroman 100 mile run challenge. In addition, it has also donated sponsorship to events including the Worcester Marathon and Worcester Stands Tall.
Next month will see the team take part in ‘The Go Bright for Sight 5K Colour Run’ at Churchfields Farm in July, running through paint stations whilst raising money for Sight Concern Worcestershire. This will be followed by a 220-mile canoe challenge along the length of the River Severn. Beginning at the source, Director Ben Mannion aims to complete the course within a week raising £7,500 for Megan Baker House.
Speaking of the achievement, Laura Hewett, Director of Hewett Recruitment, said: “We’re delighted to be on-track at such a pivotal point in our milestone campaign. We have a fantastic team who have really got behind the challenge and are determined to continue giving up their free time to ensure we continue hitting our targets.”
The 40@40 challenge follows a successful year for the business, which has also recently unveiled a new website, celebrated a 29% rise in sales and doubled the size of its specialist Technical Division.
“We’ve done a lot of work with regional fundraising projects over the last forty years,” continues Laura, “so we understand how valuable every penny raised is, in helping them provide the level of support and care that they do. We launched the campaign to give something back to these local communities who, we feel, have contributed massively to helping shape the company into the business it is today.”
