Date: 04/10/2018

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is delighted to reveal that six businesses from across the two counties have been crowned as winners in the West Midlands heat of the Chamber Business Awards 2018.

Now in their 15th year, the Awards are a highlight of the business calendar, recognising the key role that local businesses play in driving the UK economy.

The winners for the regional Chamber Business Awards are:

·         Best Use of Technology – Kingspan Insulation
·         Digital Communications Campaign of the Year - OLPRO
·         Education and Business Partnership Award – Worcestershire Training Provider Association
·         Employer of the Year – Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
·         Export Business of the Year – ETL Systems Limited
·         Workplace Wellbeing Award – Phoenix Group

Speaking of their success, Lucy Symonds, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Phoenix Group, said: “We’re proud to be winners of the Workplace Wellbeing Award in the Regional Awards. Through our corporate responsibility programme we aim to educate, inform and engage our colleagues, providing tools and resources to support their physical, financial and mental wellbeing. We’re really pleased our efforts have been recognised externally [within our region].”

The regional success follows the firms winning their category in the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in June 2018. All six companies will now go forward to represent the West Midlands in the national finals, which take place in London on Thursday 29 November.

Francis Martin, President of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:

“Businesses are the engines of the UK economy – creating opportunities and prosperity in our towns, cities and counties. Even in these turbulent times, they continue to show their adaptability, resilience and strength.

“Every year our judges are impressed by the calibre of entries, and this year was no different. All our finalists should be proud to reach this stage given the stiff competition among our diverse and enterprising pool of applicants.”

Sharon Smith, Chief Executive at the Chamber, commented: “I am thrilled that six winners from the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards have gone on to win the Award for the West Midlands in their category.

“The Chamber Business Awards are the perfect opportunity to celebrate the local business communities’ achievements, and really appreciate the outstanding performance of companies in the two counties.

“I look forward to seeing Herefordshire and Worcestershire represented on a national stage, and I wish all six businesses the best of luck.”
