Yesterday (Monday 15 January), it was announced that Wolverhampton-based Carillion was going into liquidation. The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has set up a dedicated helpline to support businesses that have been affected by this announcement.

If you are a business and would like support or have any questions relating to the situation at Carillion, please call 01902 912322 or email carillionhelp@blackcountrychamber.co.uk.

The helpline comes on behalf of the Carillion taskforce, which includes representatives from the City of Wolverhampton Council, Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Department for Work and Pensions, West Midlands Combined Authority, Black Country Chamber of Commerce and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce work collectively with the other West Midlands Chambers of Commerce on a number of projects, and in this instance the Black Country is leading the collective helpline for the West Midlands.

We urge all firms affected by the news to contact the helpline for support and guidance relating to the situation at Carillion. The Black Country Chamber of Commerce will be operating the helpline to support with the troubling time, sharing the latest updates of the situation as it develops, taking the key concerns to the Carillion taskforce group.

The Chamber is encouraging businesses to share this information with anyone who might be impacted by the situation.

This will be updated as the circumstances develop.
