Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce has successfully been re-accredited for the third time against the Cyber Essentials standard.

The Chamber has earned the re-accreditation on a “Whole Company” scope basis, which includes all areas of business activity including; Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Department for International Trade, Worcestershire Business Central, Visit Herefordshire and Visit Worcestershire.
The Cyber Essentials standard and compliance are incredibly important to working life, and will continue to be so over the forthcoming years. There have been many recent examples of high profile attacks which have caused massive disruption and unexpected costs, and many government contracts now require the Cyber Essentials standard as a minimum.
With the enforcement of GDPR occurring in May this year, it is now more than ever imperative to keep both business systems and data secure.
To maintain the Chamber’s accreditation for the third year, employees were independently assessed via a questionnaire over four main sections, covering; organisation, secure business operations, office firewalls and internet gateways, user accounts, malware protection and more.
Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is delighted that it has been showing a recognised level of security and behaviour to mitigate risk of a cyber attack or data breach.
