Our best yet? Over 90 business leaders get insider information from the Bank of England Agent at the annual Chamber event.

Over 90 Business Leaders across Herefordshire joined the Chamber for their Annual Bank of England Breakfast at the Courtyard Arts Centre on 29 September to meet with and hear from Graeme Chaplin, the Bank of England Agent for the West Midlands.
Graeme joined the leading local business group to give his annual update on the Bank of England's latest economic forecasts and explained the role of the Bank in promoting stability in the UK financial sector post-Brexit, after guests enjoyed networking over a delicious breakfast.
Perhaps the fantastic theatre space made businesspeople feel like eager students in a lecture again, as guests weren’t shy to ask tricky questions on inflation, interest rates and current affairs. But Policy Manager Sophia Haywood managed to keep the class in check and drew the event to close by updating guests on the exciting policy activity in the pipeline for the two counties.

Sophia Haywood, Policy Manager at the Chamber commented:
"This was one of our best Bank of England events yet. It was a fantastic morning, guests definitely enjoyed the tasty breakfast treats put on by our host The Courtyard and they found Graeme's presentation informative and insightful. Businesses have varying opinions on potential changes to interest rates and are all impacted by inflation fluctuations, so they really did have some tricky questions to grill the Agent with. Thanks for Graeme's continuing support to the local business community and also to The Courtyard for hosting this successful annual Chamber event."
