Date: 03/11/2017

The Chamber’s autumn Business Expo (Thursday 5 October) always signals the arrival of the colder months, and this year was no exception. However, the Expo is also a celebration of the growth and success of businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

This year we welcomed over 800 guests on the day, with visitors enjoying the 120 exhibiting businesses and the entertainment on every stand. From miniature car racing to a “spa” themed relaxation zone, the Expo was a fantastic day to showcase businesses in the two counties, with visitors calling it the best one yet!

October also brought with it positive news for all Members of the Chamber; from the announcement of new funding for key infrastructures, Patron Member Malvern Instrument Ltd representing the counties in the British Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, and the results of the Quarterly Economic Survey for quarter 3 showing that firms are remaining strong.

November looks to be another interesting month for businesses in the two counties. The announcement of the budget following a politically unstable year is something I’m sure we will all be eagerly awaiting. In line with this, discussion is now taking place for the Chamber’s Business Manifesto 2018, an important part of the Chamber being able to lobby efficiently for businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Finally, the Chamber has officially started the countdown to our Business Awards 2018. We are putting the steps in place to make this year the biggest awards ceremony yet, with lots of exciting information to be revealed soon. This year we celebrate the announcement of two new awards for businesses to enter, and I look forward to seeing the variety of applications when entries open in January.

I’m sure you will all join me in welcoming November and the opportunities that this month has to offer.
