Overview
PRINCE2® is the best practice framework for Project Management from the Axelos. This intensive 5 day course will take you through the entire methodology including both the foundation & practitioner examinations, giving you the chance to gain an internationally recognised qualification.
A copy of the Text book 'Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2®' 2009 edition will be issued to you on day 1 of the course. Unlike many, our course fees include examinations charges so there are no hidden extras!
 
Purpose of this course
The course thoroughly explains the PRINCE2® project management method and language. It will teach you how to use this methodology to control your projects, regardless of size as PRINCE2® is fully scalable, bringing them in on-time, within budget and quality requirements.
 
Who is this course for
The course will benefit Project Managers, Team Managers/Leaders, Project and Quality Assurance or Project Support staff who wish to gain the Practitioner qualification in PRINCE2®. It is also suitable for those wishing to gain a formal qualification after a couple of years of project management experience.

More about the exam
The Foundation exam is a 1 hour closed book multiple choice exam at the end of day 3 of the course.  35 marks required (out of 70 available) to pass - 50%.
The Practitioner exam sat on the last day, this 2.5 hour open book (PRINCE2® Manual only) exam. It has a scenario background and appendices. The pass mark is 55%.
 
Pre-course work required
15 hours of pre-course preparation is required. Pre-Course material will be sent to you 4-6 weeks before the start of the course.
This is an intensive course which will guide you through the entire methodology. Please note that you will be expected to complete approximately 2 hours of homework each evening during the course.
Prerequisites
You should be familiar with projects and ideally Project Management tools and techniques a good pre-course would be our Introduction to Project Management course

You will learn how to
  • Apply the Axelos project management method
  • Understand the language of PRINCE2® and how the method should be suitably applied to differently-sized projects
  • Appreciate the roles involved in making project management a collaborative effort
  • Apply the PRINCE2® method to a given scenario in a way that demonstrates understanding and application of the method
  • Use PRINCE2® processes and themes appropriately in a particular circumstance
  • Critique PRINCE2® documents to demonstrate how they should be written in a project
