AMBASSADOR SCHEME LAUNCHED TO BOOST BUSINESS IN NORTH WORCESTERSHIRE

Home / News & Opportunities / Opportunities

Date: 10/11/2016

A new initiative is set to be launched to engage business leaders in promoting and investing in the North Worcestershire economy.

Thriving businesses across Bromsgrove, Redditch and the Wyre Forest will be urged to become ‘Ambassadors’ for the area, encouraging new businesses to grow or relocate in the region.

The scheme is the brainchild of North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedR), which is responsible for promoting and enabling growth and sustainable development in the region.

The campaign will include the strapline declaring North Worcestershire to be a ‘natural environment for business.'

It is being launched at an event due to be attended by over 120 businesses on Thursday 24th November 2016 at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel in Kidderminster, where the guest speaker will be award-winning entrepreneur Emma Heathcote-James, founder of Little Soap Company.

Dean Piper, Head of Economic Development and Regeneration at NWedR, said: “I am proud to be launching our Ambassador scheme for North Worcestershire to support those who want to promote the benefits of working and living in an area which is undoubtedly a place where businesses can grow and thrive.

“Our ambassadors, themselves success stories, will highlight what’s great about North Worcestershire through events, social media, news stories and networking to help businesses that are thinking of relocating to the area understand what it’s really like to be based here.

“We believe the initiative will also inspire those businesses that are already here and are benefiting from this great environment.”
Businesses can become ambassadors for free, choosing from a number of ways to take part – including sharing their success stories with NWedR, which would then share them on its website and social media channels.
Mr Piper added: “We’d love to hear from businesses and we would urge them to tell us about their successes and developments.
“Businesses considering relocation are often inspired by other companies who are doing well, and local businesses love to be connected to like-minded neighbours.
“So, if you win an award, expand your team or reach an important milestone, let us know and we’ll help spread the word."

Ambassadors are also being asked to become a ‘Business Buddy’ for an organisation thinking of relocating to the area or a local company in need of a helping hand.  All they need to do is donate a one-hour session to one company.
NWedR is also launching an online ‘we’re naturals’ photo gallery, allowing businesses to post their images which capture North Worcestershire as a natural environment for business.  For more information visit www.nwedr.org.uk/Ambassadors.

Meanwhile, businesses could also chose to feature the ‘we’re naturals’ logo on their website, or connect through social media via the hashtag #natural@NorthWorcs and follow Twitter handle @NorthWorcsEDR
