Young entrepreneurs, from the Wychavon district, are invited to enter a brand new competition to win a shop in the centre of Droitwich Spa.

The winner of the competition will be awarded free rent for the shop, located in St Andrew’s Street, Droitwich. In addition to the fantastic prize, the lucky winner will receive one year’s free membership to the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, and a free business mentoring session arranged by Worcestershire Business Central. The sensational opportunity is thanks to the Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund.
Nick Webb, Asset Manager at Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund, said: “This package is worth over £25,000 and offers a young entrepreneur their first foot on the retail ladder. Our ownership in Droitwich town centre extends to 43 retail units and it incorporates big name brands such as Morrisons, Argos, Boots, Wilkos and New Look. It is the perfect opportunity for a new business to test out the market and showcase their retail offer.”
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be aged between 18-30, have completed a business plan, and undertaken a recognised business start up course within the last 3 years. The competition will accept entries from Monday 17 July to Friday 8 September 2017 only.
Councillor Richard Morris stated: “Our sincere thanks to Salmon Harvester Opportunity fund for working with us on this innovative opportunity and for making this possible. I think it would be great to see many different ideas and how retail can engage consumers in this day and age.”
