Driving on business is more dangerous than being a deep sea diver
Volvo has launched a programme called Co-Pilot with a number of other organisations such as Roadsafe and Driving for Better Business, to raise awareness of road safety with businesses that have employees on the road. There are 5 million cars on the road for business and over a half will have an accident in the next 12 months.
Small businesses are busy running their businesses and compliance can be seen as a lot to take on board. Along with being aware of their responsibilities to all drivers who drive on business whether in company cars or their own cars.
The British Chambers of Commerce in association with Volvo has organised a national programme of events facilitating discussions around driver risk and legal compliance from a company perspective, to include company vehicles, grey fleet, corporate obligations, the solutions and outcomes. Combined with the topic of how best practices can be shared to assist businesses save money, not often associated with safety.
