Working with Abberley Hall – we are constantly on the lookout for new ways in which we can explain what makes the school different. One of these key UPSs is that Abberley prides itself on letting the children be children, allowing them to be who they want to be and to encourage each child to flourish in their own way – seeing things through their eyes!

The 'Through the Eyes of a Child' photo competition was set up to see what would happen if you armed each child with a disposable camera. The joy of an 'old school' camera meant the whole process was honest with no retouching or deleting of images. Some children were a little confused at first with such low-tech cameras but all took to the task with great vigour and the results showed a real hunger for the challenge.
Our hope was to see the school through the eyes of the children. It wasn’t about capturing the ‘perfect picture’ but about building confidence, having fun and exploring new ideas. Thank you to all who took part in the competition. We hope children, parents and friends will come and see the final exhibition of 32 shortlisted photographs and of course the winners! There are some beautiful results – well worth seeing.
Big Helping were very pleased to sponsor the event and look forward to further building the Abberley Hall brand.
