One of the Midlands’ leading car dealers is backing Redditch United this season – hoping to steer them to glory with a lucrative shirt sponsorship deal.

And the Reds’ promotion drive will be further fuelled with one of the country’s leading car parts specialists sponsoring the away shirts.

The new home and away kits have been supplied by Sondico as part of their four-year deal with the club – a new-look yellow and blue design joining the traditional red and black.

Chairman Chris Swan has added his name to the front of the men’s home kit with Trust Group UK – Redditch’s VW and Skoda dealers – appearing on the front of the women’s shirts. They will also be the reverse of shirt sponsor on all the kits.

Brand Manager Jon Hands said: “We’re delighted to give our support to Redditch United and to back the excellent work they are doing in the community.

“Football appeals to so many people regardless of age, sex or ability and to help the club offer opportunities to so many children and adults from Redditch and the surrounding area was a chance not to be missed. In particular we’re excited about our link with the women’s and girls teams as they continue to develop and build on what was an excellent season.

“Trust Group UK is the premier Skoda and Volkswagen dealer in the Midlands and we are looking forward to working with the Reds – another major name in the area and a football club that can boast 1,000 people using their facilities each week.”

Car parts firm Comline has already sponsored the main stand at the Trico Stadium and Marketing Manager Leigh Davies said the opportunity to add the company name to the front of the away shirts was an opportunity too good to miss.

“This will be our second season supporting Redditch United and we have been impressed by the club’s vision and efforts to engage with the community,” he explained.

“We are based in Bedfordshire so the chance to support the Reds this way was a perfect fit for us with quite a few of their away games being close to our base in Bedfordshire.”
